Claude Code

Run memcode on your Claude Pro or Max subscription by reusing your Claude Code login.

If you pay for Claude Pro or Max, memcode can run on that subscription by reusing the login you already have in Claude Code. No API key, no extra cost.

Before you start

Sign in to Claude Code, the claude CLI, at least once so its login is on this machine. memcode reuses that login and does not ask you to sign in again.

Connect

memcode auth use claude

Now run memcode as usual and it uses your Claude subscription. To check, run memcode auth status, or run memcode auth for the picker.

Where the login comes from

memcode reads Claude Code's stored login from ~/.claude/.credentials.json, and on macOS from the Keychain. When the token expires, memcode refreshes it and writes it back, so both tools stay in sync.

If it stops working

If memcode says the Claude login is expired and can't be refreshed, sign in again with Claude Code, then run memcode.
